The buzz from the first-ever SMOOCH PNW Wedding Showcase on April 5th, 2025, is still going strong—and with good reason. Hosted by Abernethy Center—proudly rooted in Portland’s wedding scene since 2001—SMOOCH was created as a celebration of this vibrant community.

ABERNETHY TRANSFORMED: YOUR WEDDING WONDERLAND
Stepping onto the grounds of Abernethy Center that day felt like entering a thoughtfully designed wedding wonderland. Our unique multi-venue space was completely transformed to offer distinct experiences. Imagine the elegant ballroom and airy Abigail's Garden tent, alive with the energy of over 100 curated vendor booths—a true marketplace of inspiration and talent. Meanwhile, the iconic chapel became "design central," where a cool downstairs lounge offered social space with a bar and tasty bites. The upstairs unveiled dreamy floral decor and creative rental installations. This intentional flow made it easy to explore and connect.

RUNWAY READY: BRIDAL & GROOM STYLE INSPIRATION
The fashion shows were a major highlight, offering serious style inspiration from the PNW's top local boutiques. We teamed up with Ania Bridal and Vouture Design for stunning dresses – think everything from timeless elegance to modern statements. And for the grooms (and anyone wanting to look sharp), Mr. Formal, Pearce Bespoke, and Vouture showcased a range of sophisticated suiting, including custom options and unique personal touches. The goal was to spark fresh ideas for your wedding style and connect you with the PNW talent who can make it a reality.

FIRST DANCE GOALS: MAKING MAGIC ON THE FLOOR
PNW Wedding Dance brought some serious charm to SMOOCH. A real couple, who celebrated their own PNW wedding last summer, recreated their choreographed first dance – proof that a little practice equals major magic. Then, they broke it down, teaching everyone a few basic steps. The takeaway? Your first dance can be a joy, not a stress! Especially with a pro like PNW Wedding Dance on your side!
FUELING THE FUN: BITES & SIPS FROM LOCAL FAVORITES
Let's be real – good food and drinks make any event better, especially one about planning your big day! We had delicious bites available throughout the venues, plus awesome samples from local drink heroes like The Tipsy Lemon, The Pennywhip, Cruz Bartending Services, and Intentional Espresso. Keeping the energy up and the conversations flowing with local flavor was key.
DREAM IT, SEE IT, TOUCH IT: THE DESIGN SHOWROOM
Upstairs in "design central," our stunning showroom area truly brought wedding visions to life. We partnered with seven talented florists and three amazing rental houses for a collaborative display of diverse contemporary wedding styles – from bold statements to classic romance. This was all about experiencing the textures, colors, and scents firsthand, helping couples move beyond Pinterest boards and really identify their unique style.
