GABRIELA + CJ - A MODERN WINTER WEDDING
This March wedding was a beautiful celebration of culture, family, and pure joy. Blending Nigerian and Hispanic traditions, the couple created a day that felt unmistakably their own, from the heartfelt ceremony in the Abernethy Chapel to a reception overflowing with energy in the Abernethy Center Grand Ballroom. Their happiness was contagious, and every part of this Oregon City wedding felt centered on what mattered most: celebrating their marriage surrounded by the people they love.
Our full-service wedding planning and coordination team had the privilege of bringing their vision together from top to bottom. The design embraced a modern black-and-white palette with layers of lush white florals, dramatic black linens, crisp white details, a statement black-and-white dance floor, and an incredible ceiling installation that transformed the Ballroom. The timeless color palette allowed the couple, and the vibrant cultural elements woven throughout the celebration, to take center stage. It was elegant and elevated without ever feeling too formal, creating the perfect backdrop for a winter wedding filled with personality.
And then there was the party! From the couple’s fashion and cultural attire to a packed dance floor and some of the most joyful reception photos, this was the kind of wedding that reminds us why we love what we do. Having the ceremony, reception, in-house catering, and planning team all at one Portland-area wedding venue allowed the day to flow seamlessly while our team handled the details behind the scenes. We absolutely adored working with this couple and the talented vendor team who helped bring every piece together, and we’ll be thinking about the energy from this celebration for a long time.
